lord of the rings how it should have ended

i've heard of this video a couple of times, but i've never actually seen it until now.

its hilarious. i like the idea but IT WOULD NEVER HAVE WORKED! read below if you want to know why.




on second thoughts i won't. its not really important to anyone, except perhaps tolkien himself. if you want to know why it would not have worked, read the 'silmarilion.' its a good book, the entire history of middle earth from the creation by illuvatar, to the destruction of the one ring, and a little beyond.

also, think about it. sauron, paranoid, always thinking about the ring, gets distracted by two men, an elf and a dwarf shouting 'you suck?' long enough for a giant eagle carrying 4 hobbits and a wizard to fly into the middle of mordor, who were not seen by archers, or those ballista thingies, or the catapults? ridiculous!
and the fact that the rings power of of possessiveness gets stronger the closer it is to mount doom, so frodo wouldn't drop it in. and even if he did, what if he missed?


...oh, i couldn't resist. theres a lot more too, but, i won't bore you with it.

i'm not a nerd, i just care too much about this kind of stuff.

which makes me a nerd.

oh, and before i forget (ha!), LOTR was not based in any way on WW2. he started to think about a sequel to the hobbit in 1937, and by 1938 the beginnings of the trilogy and mythology had been formed. he didn't finish writing until 1949.
"It is neither allegorical nor topical....I cordially dislike allegory in all its manifestations, and always have done so since I grew old and wary enough to detect its presence." he hated the idea that people thought this about his work.
